Serengeti Symphony

Serengeti Symphony is a nature film about the wildlife in Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.

Edith Brinkers, a close personal friend of Lauren van Rooyen introduced the composer to film maker Hugo van Lawick. This introduction resulted in Van Rooyen composing the music for Serengeti Symphony. This breathtaking film was globally distributed by Walt Disney.

Van Rooyen describes the music for Serengeti Symphony as follows:

“To see a sunrise in Africa is something very special. To see a sunrise in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is as if you are witnessing the Creation. Looking down into the Ngorongoro Crater and seeing all these beautiful animals calmly grazing made me realize what Paradise must have looked like. At first there is no sound at all; the whole spectrum of colors in a continuous passing scene of landscape and clouds. Then, at precisely 6:30 am, birds begin to sing. The experience is now complete.”
